Description
Bow Shackle with Safety Bolt
Our bow shackles with safety bolts provide a secure connection for demanding lifting, hoisting and rigging applications where additional protection against accidental pin loosening is required.
Manufactured from high tensile alloy steel, the shackle features a hot-dip galvanised finish for improved corrosion resistance. The water-blue safety bolt is secured using a nut and cotter pin, making this design particularly suitable for lifting arrangements where the connection may remain in place for longer periods.

Secure Safety Bolt Design
Unlike a standard screw-pin shackle, the safety bolt is retained using a nut and cotter pin. This helps reduce the risk of the pin loosening during use and makes the shackle well suited to longer-term or more demanding lifting connections.
The bolt is supported through both shackle eyes, providing a secure connection under load and making this design suitable for heavy-duty rigging applications.
Available Capacities
0.5T, 0.75T, 1T, 1.5T, 2T, 3.25T, 4.75T, 6.5T, 8.5T, 9.5T, 12.5T, 13.5T, 17T and 25T.
Typical Applications
Suitable for cranes, hoisting systems, lifting sling assemblies, suspended loads and heavy-duty rigging applications where a secure bolted connection is preferred.
Selecting the Correct Shackle
Always select a shackle with a Working Load Limit appropriate for the intended lifting operation. The lifting method, load direction, sling angles and overall rigging configuration should all be considered when selecting lifting equipment.
Before use, check the shackle body, bolt, nut and cotter pin for damage, deformation, excessive wear or corrosion. The identification and Working Load Limit markings should remain clearly legible.
